Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have created a youtube video talking about what technologies I have used and what I learnt and the impact I had from them in the process of constructing my magazine.

Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?

Here I have uploaded a slide to slideshare as to how my magazine addressed my audience. This allows me to share it with people as they can see exactly how my magazine developed to fit a certain demographic.

Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Online Survey for my magazine on PhotoPeach
I have made an online survey on Survey Monkey. I have sent this to both males and females. This gave me a clearer oppinion of whether they thought my magazine appeals to the target audience young teenage females. By doing this survey it also helps me to know if I have clearly used the codes and conventions of a music magazine to reach my targetted audience.

The majority of the people who did the survey answered 'young teenage females' to who they thought the target audience is which is what I wanted to achieve. It also tells me that my magazine is clearly a 'Pop' magazine which is important as it uses the codes and conventions of a typical Pop magazine. One person answered 'I like the fact that the layout has been clearly planned out and falls into place nicely'  they also mention 'Its also very vibrant and eye catching' which is important as the genre is Pop.

Feedback from class

I gave a questionaire for my classmates to fill in to get feedback on my magazine. This told me what they thought about my magazine and whether I was successful to target the correct audience. From this I have clearly targeted the right audience as they have all said teenagers. They have all said I have used all the typical codes and conventions of a magazine, which was a big aim to do. They have all said I have used a good use of colour and fonts, which was also an important thing to do.

Developing with my contents page

Today, I have started to design my contents page, I have carried  on with the girly colour scheme. I have put hearts next to each heading. I have also placed a picture of a makeup set as it's a girly item that girls love. I also have put the front cover of the magazine on it as I have pointed out which parts are on which page of the magazine. I got this idea from 'We love pop' magazine.

My final contents page

This is my final contents page. I have developed it from the one above by adding a box from the magazine editor Laura. This makes it grab the audience's attention as they are persuading you to buy the magazine by using the words  'girly gossip'  and 'new pop artists'. I also looked at a Top of the pops magazine and their layout. I have used a similar layout as it attracts a younger audience.

Experimenting with my double page spread

Today, I have started designing my double page spread. I have used a long shot of the artist on the right hand side. I blended the background colours together to make it look professional. I used different fonts to make it look funky and not boring. I have used a catchy headline 'A new shine to the pop music bizz!'. This grabs the audiences attention as its a brand new artist and young readers will want to read about this. I have used some of the photo-shoot photos on the right hand side, as young readers like to see pictures of artists. It makes it interesting to look at. I have also included a bubble 'I followed my dream' to inspire young girls that their dreams can come true if they don't give up.

My final double page spread

This is my final double page spread. I have experimented with hot pink and peach circles on the page. This worked well and makes the page more girly and funky.  I got this idea from a previous we love pop magazine as I thought it looked good and unusual. I am happy with my final double page spread as I think it attracts the audience and is catchy for people to read the article.

Experimenting with my magazine cover

Here I have chosen a close up shot for the background image. I liked this image as the hair looks golden and glossy which a celebrities hair usually looks like on the front cover of magazines.  I have used different fonts on the magazine to make it interesting and catch the audience's attention. I have used a catchy magazine name 'Non stop pop'.

My final magazine cover

This is my final magazine cover. I changed the background to a different image of the model. This looked better as I prefer the way her hair looks and shes directly looking at the audience. I am pleased with my final magazine cover, as it has the typical codes and conventions of a pop music magazine.

Edited photos

To edit my photos I used a editing website called pic monkey. I have edited each photo by changing the saturation lighter and then changed the filter to Cross Process. This filter brings out the pink in the background and also adds golden to the hair.
Photoshoot planning

Photoshoot Title: Photoshoot for magazine

Photoshoot Concept:This photoshoot will help me capture some good shots professionally. I will take close up shots and also long shots to create a different mood and also to show their clothing.

Aims: From this photoshoot I want to achieve good professional photos which create a sophisticated look and also a smiley and cute look as my genre is pop.

Date & Timings: I will take these photographs during the weekend. It will take around 3 hours, this is important as I will need to make sure their hair and makeup is done professionally in this time.

Location: I will take my photographs in my house because the main focus is on the model rather than the location.

Props: I won’t need any props for my shoot as I want it took look simple and focused on the mood of the model.

Models: My friends Lauren and Cherrice.

Team: I will have a make-up artist handy who will do the models make-up.

Equipment & Preparation: I will use a canon camera with enough memory to take as many photos to find the perfect one. I will ensure the batteries are charged.

Desired Shots: I will include long shots and close up shots to create a different atmosphere. From research of pop magazines this has helped me consider the composition of the magazine and how the model is placed. I will make them play around with their body language and facial expressions. I will also make sure they are placed against a clear background to make the shot professional.  The lighting will also be considered as I want to make sure the lighting is high key to fit with the bubbly genre.

Photo Shoot for my music magazine

Plan for my contents page

On my contents page I will include a picture of the front cover of my magazine and labels the headlines with the page numbers they will be shown on. I will also include a picture of an artist that will be included inside. Also I will include the number of pages written with the headlines of what will be included on that particular page.

Sunday 5 January 2014

Plan for my magazine cover

On my front cover it will include various headlines of artists, this will alow the teens to enjoy reading about their favourite artists. I will also include the hottest trends as this is fun and exciting for teens to read. I will include the artists new single on the front aswell as its bound to get more buyers knowing there is a new album out!
Plan of my double page spread

I am going to have a clear headline at the top of the page so its easy to read. I will have my interview layed out in 3 columns, this makes it easy for the person to read. I will have a quote from the artist to inspire people. I will have mini photographs at the bottom of the page in boxes to keep a consistent layout, also this will be good as teens like to look at pictures to make the article for fun. Taking up the page will be a long shot photograph of the artist, as I have noticed alot of pop magazines have a long shot photograph on the right hand side of the double page spread.
Typography

I have researched some fonts for the title of my magazine 'Non-stop pop'. I picked some of my favourite and changed the colouring of them. Firstly, I chose a girly font with flicks and hearts, as my magazine is aimed at a young audience. I chose pinks, purples and black for the colours, as these are all girly. I think they all worked really well, but I liked the dark pink the best as it stands out and is clear to read.

Secondly, I chose a funky font with a bubbly effect to the top of each letter. The letters have slits in them which make it more edgy. I chose pinks, black and a turquoise. I think these all work well as they are eye-catching. My favourite one is the black and light pink as they mix well and still remain girly.
Equipment list- Costumes and prop research

When taking my photographs, I will get my model to change clothing. Firstly she will wear denim shorts and a baby pink knitted jumper. Then she will be wearing a black skater skirt and a collared burgundy shirt and white knitted jumper over the top. Then she will change into a black long sleeve top and grey jeans. These clothes are all in fashion so will automatically get the teeangers attention.

I will get my model to wear eye makeup which isnt too powerful. I will get her to change her hairstyle, so that she doesnt look the same in every shot.

I wilI use a DSLR camera as it takes the best shots. The model will do some sophisticated looks and some smiley looks, as I want my model looking her best which will make young girls look up to them and also singers are seen as glamorous so I want my model to look stylish.

Researching these magazines have helped me to decide the costumes and props for my own magazine. Also the expressions and body expressions have helped me to tell the model how to pose for the photographs.

Readers Profile for my magazine

My magazine will appeal to teenage girls around the age of 11-16 as it is going to be full of girly gossip and hot celebrity crushes. The audience demographic of my magazine is E as young teenagers, unemployed and children come under this demographic. Also pop magazines today are aimed at around 11-14 year olds, so I think this is a good age range for the genre Young girls would read this magazine as when they listen to pop music, it reflects their mood. Pop music is connoted bubbly and happy which is also accociated with young girls. My magazine will include an interview with a new pop star, latest news on their favourite stars, gossip on celebrities, fashion and chart hits. These are all things that young females like to see in a pop magazine. I will also use bright colours including pinks as my magazine is attracted to girls and pink is a girly colour. I will also use a funky font for the magazine title, as pop music is vibrant and funky.

Stand first: A brand new stylish artist discovered, her dream has come true as 17 year old singer Lauren Fryer hits the charts with her dazzling new song 'take me back'.

Question: ''How was you discovered?''

Answer: ''I was discovered by BBC introducing, this helped me get more popular into the music industry. BBC brings together undiscovered and unsigned music. I uploaded my best track and it got really popular on BBC radio shows. This was really unexpected as I didn't realise how many people actually liked the song I made.''

Question: ''How much has your life changed since being noticed and picked up to create music with one of the biggest recording companies in the world?''

Answer: ''I never imagined to be where I am now, even speaking to you still feels imaginary. I have dreamt of being a singer since I was young and here I am finally where I have always dreamt to be, a pop singer. I have only been recognized for 5 months and my life has turned around completely. My main aim as being a pop singer was to produce music that people could enjoy and have fun whilst listening to it and yeah, that’s what I am doing, the fame and things that come along with it is something that I have to accept. It hasn’t annoyed me too much yet!''

Question: ''Is there any gossip you can tell us about your personal life?''

Answer:  ''I am dating a guy at the moment who is 18 names James. He is very proud of me and always takes me out and treats me! He does get jealous of the amount of boys after me, but he knows that I will not take advantage of that as I love him very much. My friends are also proud of me, however I havent seen them as much as I have been too busy recording for my album.''

Question: ‘'Have you always wanted to be known for your music and wanted to produce it as a career?''

Answer: “I never ever dreamed that something like this would happen to me. When I was young I went to theatre school and I have always enjoyed dancing as a hobby. This was where I discovered my talent for singing. I then took up singing lessons which helped me with my voice and confidence. I never thought of being a professional singer as a career, especially as I am 17,  I had my mind set on being a school teacher but once I was found by the recording company that idea was pushed aside. But I can’t think of ever doing something different than my hobby as a career.”

Question: ‘'Is there any information about your first Album and is there a release date?''

Answer: ''My first ever album named 'Escape' includes tracks that have meaning and are up-beat. It includes my favourite song 'Take me back' which is number 1 in the charts. The song relates to the loss of my grandad and includes meaningful words that remind me of him. The album will be released on the 18th January 2014, I am so thrilled to announce this as I have spent so much time putting it all together.''

Question: ''Is there any artist in mind who you would like to collaborate with?''

Answer: ''I would love to collaborate with Justin Timberlake, as his voice is very unique and I look up to him as a young artist. I have always liked him since I was young and always used to listen to his songs right up to now. He has inspired me to achieve my dream as a pop singer, his quote - 'My biggest challenge was to make sure that the songs I did were who I am'  has also given me great dedication to me as an artist.''

Question: ''Oh really, that sounds awesome, would you ever date someone in the music industry?''

Answer: ''You never know, I may do, for me, its all about personality, but their looks have to look good too! , but I already have an amazing boyfriend, so I dont need anyone else. But yes nothing would stop me from dating someone in the music industry.''

Answer: ''I will be performing at Reading Festival on July 2nd 2014. So make sure you book tickets to see me! It will be a great night where all class singers will be performing. I am extremely excited to announce this event and to be part of it. My fans will definately not regret coming as it will be a night to remember!''

Question: ''Is there any tips you can give to inspire young artists?''

Answer: ''Yes, follow your dreams and dont let anyone stop you from achieving what you want to do in life. If you want something so much fight for it, life doesnt come easy, but once you have got it you will be greatful and proud of yourself.
